I had a wonderful morning down at Ramsgate Tunnels yesterday for the grand opening ceremony of Ramsgate’s newest museum and education centre.  With my Ramsgate Town Team hat on, I have been working with Mike Samson of York Street Gallery who has painted a wonderful mural of Ramsgate Harbour circa, 1940 down in the new Education Centre.

Happy Valentine's Weekend!

2015 is well underway and I can’t believe it is Valentine’s Day tomorrow!  Ramsgate offers so much for those of you who fancy a romantic break away, from our lovely array of independent cafes and bars overlooking our unique Royal Harbour to our fantastic local shops dotted around our town.  The newest addition is called Petticoat Lane Emporium (see pic) which opens its doors on 14th February with an injection of passion for the small trader, it will house an eclectic collection of retro and

The last sunset of 2014 reflected a wonderful year here at Glendevon Guest House and Ramsgate.  We have been fortunate to have a year packed with guests, many of whom we have met several times before and some new faces too that we hope to see again in 2015.

We are so lucky here in our little corner of England as we have some of the mildest weather in the UK which included basking in the warmest Halloween since records began.  We can also take advantage of some great photo opportunities in the late afternoon as the sun sets and the sky turns multicoloured!  Even in the colder months, we have many guests who come to enjoy the coastal walks and get their fix of sea air.

We are very lucky on this little corner of England and are blessed with some of the warmest weather our country has to offer but even we haven't been immune to the recent storms. There was a fantastic electrical storm last night and tonight is pretty impressive too although the daylight hours have been filled with sunshine!  Not so last week which started out as a glorious sunny day until I stepped onto the beach with Rosie dog.

Two of my lovely guests (Hi Peter and Bianca) and myself were priveleged to be the first 'group' to experience the tunnel tour a couple of weeks ago, the weekend prior to the official opening.  We were very grateful to be their guinea pigs and were treated to a step back in time when Ramsgate was under constant threat during WWII.
