Bookings and Payments
Telephone and email enquiries are welcomed.
To confirm a booking, particularly in the peak season, you may send a cheque as deposit, or give debit/credit card details. The debit/credit card account will not be touched unless you fail to arrive without any notice or if you cancel the booking without giving adequate notice. The notice required will usually be one week before your first nights stay. Special conditions may apply for long or block bookings at peak times of the year.
Payment by cheque (with valid card), credit/debit card or cash is welcome no matter how you secure your booking. We regret that we do not accept American Express.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations will be accepted and deposits made by cheque/cash will usually be refunded if one week’s notice is given. If you fail to arrive with no notice, the first nights stay will be taken from the credit/debit card or the cheque/cash deposit will be retained. Special conditions may apply during peak weeks or for block bookings but we would discuss this with you at the booking stage.
In other circumstances, when less than 1 week’s notice has been given (or other conditions made clear when you book) we may follow the guidance of the British Hospitality Association, which states:
Whether in writing or not, your accommodation booking amounts to a contract between yourself and the proprietor which can be altered only by mutual agreement. Often this is possible, but if not, the establishment is entitled to compensation for its losses.
For his/her part, the proprietor is bound to:
1) Take all reasonable steps to re-let the accommodation and if successful, even for part of the period, reduce his/her claim accordingly.
2) Exclude from his/her claim items such as food that has not been supplied.
3) The proprietor cannot make a claim until the end of the period booked as he/she could let it right up to the last night booked.”
Arrivals and Departures
Rooms are ready by 3pm (1500hrs) but it is worth phoning us the day before to let us know what time you expect to arrive and to check if your room may be ready earlier. Even if your room is not ready before 3pm, you are welcome to pick your key up earlier and leave your luggage in our hallway until you return.
Check out time is 1030hrs during the week and 1100hrs at weekends. Guests are welcome to leave their luggage in our hallway for later collection if they wish.
