Merry Christmas and Happy 2012
It's Chrismas Eve already, where does the time go? I know quite a few of our guests will be celebrating this evening so I hope I have managed to post this on time (first attempt was a couple of days ago when I clicked the wrong button and lost the lot!)
2011 has been a great year for us and Ramsgate. The B&B has been busier than ever with lots of new guests this year aswell as many familiar faces and Ramsgate has seen many new businesses open with more in the pipeline.
Congratulations to our neighbour Bella who had a couple of excellent reviews on Trip Advisor last month for her lovely shop www.nice-things.co.uk which is in the beautifully restored Customs House building (see picture). Her shop specialises in affordable, often handcrafted gifts, many of which are made locally but if you click on the link above you can get a better idea of what's on offer.
We went to the newly furbished Queen Charlotte pub in Addington Street last night for a quick birthday drink (happy birthday Jan). Good luck to the new landlord who has done a fantastic job on the place - there's a friendly, lively atmosphere with art from The Royal Academy on display (check out upstairs for more art by Mark Hampson), even their red wine was good which is generally a bit of a disaster in most pubs!
There are too many new ventures to mention but I will try and highlight a few others over the next few months in the meantime, Charlie and I hope you have a lovely Christmas and a happy, healthy, successful 2012.
